If you've been using Closet Tools, you might have noticed some changes. The biggest one? Closet Tools is now Resellbot.
This isn't just a rebrand. It's a fundamental shift in how the tool works - from a browser extension to a cloud-based platform.
Why the Change?
Closet Tools started in 2018 as a simple Chrome extension. My wife was spending hours sharing her Poshmark closet, and I wrote a few lines of code to automate it. That grew into a full extension that thousands of sellers used.
But browser extensions have limitations:
- Chrome updates would sometimes break functionality
- You had to keep your computer on and browser open
- Managing multiple closets was cumbersome
- Browser crashes meant automation stopped
After years of working around these constraints, it became clear that a different approach was needed.
What's Different with Resellbot?
The core difference is simple: instead of running in your browser, Resellbot runs in the cloud. This means:
No Computer Required: Once you set it up, Resellbot runs on its own servers. You don't need to keep your computer on.
Multiple Closets: If you manage more than one closet, you can control them all from one dashboard.
More Reliable: No more worrying about browser updates or computer crashes interrupting your sharing.
Mobile Access: Check your stats and adjust settings from your phone.
Same Features, New Platform
All the features from Closet Tools are still here:
- Self sharing
- Party sharing
- Following and unfollowing
- Offer to likers
- Community shares
The difference is they now run continuously in the cloud rather than in your browser.
Easier Than Ever
One of the best parts about the cloud platform is how much easier it is to use. With Closet Tools, you had to install the extension, keep Chrome open, and manage everything from your browser. With Resellbot, you just log in from any device and everything is already running.
The dashboard is cleaner, the settings are more intuitive, and you can check your stats from your phone while you're out sourcing. It's the kind of ease-of-use that only comes from building something from the ground up with user experience in mind.
Why "Resellbot"?
The name change from Closet Tools to Resellbot isn't just about moving to the cloud. It's about where we're headed.
Closet Tools was built specifically for Poshmark closets. But as we've grown, we've heard from sellers who use multiple platforms - Mercari, Depop, Whatnot, and others. They want the same automation capabilities across all their selling channels.
Resellbot reflects this broader vision. While we're starting with Poshmark automation, we're already working on:
- Mercari automation features
- Whatnot stream tools
- Cross-platform inventory management
- Multi-platform analytics
The goal is to be the one tool resellers need, regardless of which platforms they sell on.
What This Means for You
If you're a current Closet Tools subscriber, here's the good news: you already have access to Resellbot cloud at no extra cost. You can start using it today alongside the Chrome extension. Your existing subscription covers both tools during this transition period.
The Chrome extension will eventually be phased out as we focus development on the cloud platform, but there's no rush. Take your time to try out Resellbot and make the switch when you're ready.
For new users, you're joining at an exciting time. You'll start with powerful Poshmark automation and gain access to new platform features as we roll them out.
Getting Started
Resellbot offers a 14-day free trial so you can test it out. The setup is straightforward:
- Create an account
- Add your Poshmark credentials
- Configure your sharing preferences
- Let it run
The pricing is $30/month for up to 3 closets, with additional closets at $10/month each.
Looking Forward
This transition represents more than just a technical upgrade. It's the foundation for building the comprehensive reselling tool we've always envisioned.
We're starting with the platforms and features you've asked for most, and we'll keep expanding based on your feedback. The cloud infrastructure makes it possible to add new platforms and features without the limitations we faced with browser extensions.
If you have questions about the transition or want to suggest platforms for us to support next, reach out to support.
Thanks for being part of this journey from Closet Tools to Resellbot. The best is yet to come.
